Your Privacy is Sacred

At SquatClock, we believe your health data belongs to you and only you. That's why we built an app that doesn't collect your personal information. No tracking, no analytics, no data harvesting. Just a simple tool to help you move more during your workday.

TL;DR: Your squat history and preferences stay on your device. When you use AI coaches, we share limited context with our AI providers to generate personalized messages. When you log squats, we anonymously contribute to a global squat counter (see details below).

What Stays on Your Device

All your SquatClock data is stored locally on your device. This includes:

  • Your squat history and daily counts
  • Your selected AI coach and preferences
  • Progress data and streaks
  • Reminder settings and timing preferences
  • Any favorites or custom configurations

This data never leaves your phone. When you uninstall SquatClock, your data is permanently deleted because it only exists on your device.

What We Don't Collect

Let's be crystal clear about what we're NOT doing:

  • We don't collect personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • We don't track your location
  • We don't use analytics or tracking pixels
  • We don't use cookies for tracking purposes
  • We don't sell or share data with third parties
  • We don't create user profiles or accounts
  • We don't monitor your usage patterns

AI Coaches

Our AI coaches generate personalized motivational messages to encourage your squat breaks. To create relevant and personalized responses, we share limited context with third-party AI services:

  • OpenAI: We send your current squat count and progress information to OpenAI's API to generate personalized motivational quotes from your selected coach
  • Eleven Labs: The generated text is then sent to Eleven Labs to convert it into speech audio

This data is used solely for generating your personalized coach messages and is not stored by us or used for any other purpose. We do not share your name, email, or any other personally identifying information with these services.

Global Squat Counter

SquatClock features a global squat counter that shows how many squats are being done by the community worldwide. When you log squats, we share limited data with our server to power this feature:

  • Anonymous device identifier: A randomly generated UUID stored on your device. This is NOT tied to your identity, Apple ID, Google account, or any personal information - it's just a random string of characters.
  • Squat count: The number of squats you completed (e.g., 10).

This data is used solely to calculate the worldwide community statistics (total squats and number of people squatting). Here's what makes it privacy-respecting:

  • The device identifier is completely anonymous - it cannot be traced back to you
  • We do NOT collect your IP address, location, name, email, or any other personal information
  • Data is stored in temporary time buckets and automatically deleted after 2 hours
  • The feature only activates when you're online - offline usage sends no data
  • You can disable this feature entirely in the app's Settings under "Community"

Limited Interactions

The only way we might hear from you is if you reach out directly:

  • Contacting us via email for support
  • Leaving a review on the App Store or Google Play

If you email us, we'll only use your information to respond to your inquiry. We don't add you to marketing lists or share your contact information.

Website Analytics

This marketing website may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand general traffic patterns (like how many people visit the page). This analytics data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify individual visitors. The app itself contains no analytics whatsoever.

No Data Sharing

We can't share what we don't collect. We don't sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties because we simply don't have it. Your squat journey is yours alone.

Your Data, Your Control

Since all data is stored on your device, you have complete control:

  • Delete anytime: Uninstall the app to remove all data
  • No account needed: Start using SquatClock immediately
  • No data requests needed: There's nothing to request because we don't have your data
